Wednesday Writing Challenge: The Truth is Out There
Welcome to the Wednesday Writing Challenge!
Every
Wednesday, I pose a new writing challenge here on the blog. These
challenges come from books on writing, classes I've taken on creative
writing, or sometimes just from my own imagination. If you're an author,
hopefully they will help you get your writing juices flowing and help
you improve your craft.
Some
of these challenges may be very good ones or may include an element I
consider highly important for writers to learn...so occasionally I may
cycle through some of my favorites more than once.
?? Want to Participate ??
The
Wednesday Challenges are open to all readers. In order to participate,
simply comment on the challenge post with your response to the exercise.
Not only is it good practice, but you could win something nifty and
fun!

And now...
***Here's Today's Challenge!***
Something Strange:
Aliens are among us,
But they are not what we expected...
What are they?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hints and Tips:
.
Think outside the box for this one. How do we normally think of aliens? What are some common characteristics and expectations? How can you turn them on their heads?
Are these aliens good, bad, or neutral? How long have they been among us and how have we not noticed them?
Explain in 5 sentences or less.
Give me your best, darlings!!
We have seen aliens as little green people with anteni sticking out of their heads, but in all reality, they are much more beautiful and they've been here since the beginning. The reason we have never seen them before is because they wear a mask, afraid we will reject them or worse, kill them. Some have made it a point in their lives to help us strive and to keep us safe, whilst others put thoughts into our heads and control our every move. Though we will probably never learn their secrets, they work hard to help us find cures for cancer, put bad people away, and attempt to help keep the corrupt at bay.
ReplyDeleteWhen we think aliens, most people commonly picture an odd, deformed looking creature that has three fingers and says, "ET go home," but in reality, aliens are much more. I believe that aliens aren't deformed or have any physical characteristics that classify them as 'alien' because I believe that aliens look exactly like us, but possess powers unknown to us, and have been leaving among us for years. We always judge things we don't understand, so it would be a logical ideal that aliens would have assimilated into our culture in order to survive. Aliens, in my opinion, aren't good, or bad. They're a lot like people, you will the good in them and the bad.
ReplyDeleteWonderful job, both! Good luck in the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThink of them as green with cone-shaped heads. We think they can't understand us. We can make them friendly and have them understand English to be good aliens. We don't really notice them, but they can be around or above us.
