"It has been a dream," he said putting his warm palm on her cheek. As if everything that had happened between them had been nothing more than a subconscious effort. It wasn't, not for her.
ReplyDelete"Don't go." Her throat closed and a sharp pain balled in her chest. She reached out for him but his form had already began to shimmer, leaving a trail of light behind. There was no going back or moving forward for her. He placed her here, keeping her safe from the terrors of her world, but a gilded cage is all he had to offer.
It has been a dream to write. Michelle had always wanted to follow in the footsteps of her favorite authors. Her nose in one book or another, Paranormal mostly, but a good book is a good book. Her father always said, "Do something that will give you a comfortable life." How could writing be anything but...sitting down to put thoughts and dreams to words, giving life to fantasy,filling someones lonely nights with some small amount of comfort...It seemed like so long ago he had said those words, to see him laying in the ground now, as the words came back to her. If he only knew, would he be proud of what she had done? "Goodbye Papa" she whispered as rose petals floated to the ground.
